National Super Sedan Series

The concept of a National Super Sedan Series was officially endorsed in March 2005 at the Speedway Sedans Australia (SSA/ASCF) National Conference.

As a joint venture between SSA/ASCF and NASR, the aim was to introduce and develop into the National Speedway Calendar, a professionally managed series for Super Sedans with a focal point for television, media, sponsorship, corporate involvement and the subsequent improved profile for the division.

It was agreed that the inaugural series would be planned for the 2005/06 Season with race dates, contracted drivers, budgets, sponsorship and the meetings format orgainised in a few short months.

The SSA/ASCF and NASR Boards were presented with the budget and other plans in September 2005 with both unanimously in supporting the series.

Inaugural series champion Wayne Randall described the win as his Australian Title, it was that prestigious and hard fought. The NSSS continues to grow and improve to quickly become a major blue ribbon event on the Australian motor sport calendar.
