Staff Members
Tim McAvaney - General Manager
Tim brings with him 15 years of Speedway experience having worked with World Series Sprintcars and various clubs and associations in a voluntary capacity for 9 years prior to joining NASR. Tim operated the family business for 5 years until 1997, when he traveled extensively overseas. Upon returning he worked in an administrative/sales position for a racing industry supplier & retail tyres outlet, and then joined NASR in 2001. He was appointed General Manager in March 2002.

Tony Parkinson - Project Manager
Tony Parkinson has acted in a consultancy capacity for NASR since 2002 on a part-time basis to help with the general strategic and planning needs of the organisation and for the sport. Tony is an ex-Super Sedan and circuit competitor having raced in Australian Titles and the famous Bathurst 1000, World Series Sprintcars Chief Steward and a successful engineering and corporate services manager for the Department of Defence and in private industry.

Paul Trengove - Competition Manager
Paul commenced his role as Competition Manager in July 2006. His job description includes developing policy, procedure, standards and training, overseeing competition issues for NASR such as developing the premier series events in which NASR has direct involvement and general risk management of tracks including track inspections and risk audits. Paul is a third generation race driver winning the 2002 Australian Formula 3 National Series (Level 2). Paul has also competed in Australia’s fastest motor sport category - Formula 4000 and in finished runner up in the 2003 Formula Holden Australian Drivers’ Championship. Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and brings to NASR seven years of public sector experience working in corporate finance and multi-million dollar information and communication technology projects. |

James Baker – Communication Manager
James joined NASR as Communication Manager in May 2006 and works in the National Office two days a week overseeing communication links with all speedway stakeholders such as tracks, competitor groups and members. There is also a greater focus on media relations and updates on the NASR web site so members, motor sport media and the general public alike are kept up to date with the latest developments from the NASR office. James has over ten years experience in the industry as a journalist and photographer covering such events as Australian Speedway Championships, World Series Sprintcars, V8 Supercar Series and Australian Formula One Grand Prix for many leading publications. |

Sharee Mortimer - Senior Accounts Administrator
Sharee joined NASR as our Senior Accounts Administrator in April 2007. Sharee recently returned to Adelaide after working in Victoria as a Payroll Manager for Moorabool Shire COuncil where she was responsible for organising the payroll for over 200 employees. Sharee is an avid V8 Supercar supporter and was involved with Speedway Park/City for many years working on the public and pit gates while her father was a Speedcar Representative. Sharee has taken on the challenge of working for NASR while she completes her Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Management |

Sue Waugh - Administration/Licencing
Sue has been with NASR from the beginning, coming from a similar role at World Series Sprintcars for the ten years prior. Collectively, Sue has worked in the Speedway Industry for 18 years and can answer any question directed to her in the NASR National Office due to her vast knowledge base. Sue’s dedication, professional approach, understanding and friendly manner has been an asset to NASR for 9 years. |
