Volunteers

Jeff Alexander

Jeff Alexander has been a long serving and valued volunteer of speedway and NASR for many years. He first took the minutes for the Federation of Australian Speedway (FAS) when Peter Dodd and Bruce Howle formed it on March 15th 1987.

At this time Alexander was the State Secretary for the Racing Drivers Association of SA (RDAofSA) and then went on to record members insurance on a database and facilitate track inspections for FAS.

In the 1995/96 season FAS and World Series Sprintcars (WSS), lead by John Hughes, joined to form NASR and Alexander was again called upon for database recording, logging of all insurance claims to follow trends of injuries for any particular section, recording the pit insurances and driver's levy, develop monthly comparison charts of members and increased track inspections.

Alexander continued this work until March 15th 2006 and following 19 years of invaluable service decided to retired due to the ever changing and upgrading of systems, increase in staff and health reasons. Alexander still keeps in touch because as he admits, " I do miss it and the people a lot."

Alexander has followed speedway for all of his 65 years and wishes to continue as long as health and finance allows. He is a life member of the RDAofSA, Board Member for V6 Sprints, secretary of the SA Stewards and spent some years on the Murray Bridge Committee. Although he has never raced himself Alexander has been a mechanic and an official for various categories.
