2010/11 NASR Speedway Hand Book

NASR Presents World Series Sprintcars iPhone Web App
For the first time ever, NASR is pleased to announce that World Series Sprintcars fans will be able to get their Sprintcar fix on the go with the WSS iPhone web application.
The web application, which will also be compatible with most internet-enabled mobile phones, will bring the action right to your seat. Featuring a slick, iPhone optimized interface, the ‘app’ will enable fans to stay up to date with Live Grid Draws during the event, Race Results, Championship Standings, News, Schedules and more.

GM Dale Gilson in SRN Magazine
Keep an eye out for NASR General Manager Dale Gilson in this fortnight's issue of Speedway Racing News.
Dale participated in a 'Head to Head' with SRN's Rebecca Morris, answering questions about his first year as General Manager, plans for year 2 in the job and identifying future challenges.

NASR Head Office Moving Dates
NASR Head Office would like to remind all NASR Licence Holders that NASR has secured a new Head Office premises and will be moving in October 2010.
Please be patient during this time when contacting us for support or submitting licence applications. Be sure to allow an additional few business days for your licence to be returned to your club during this time.
NASR Risk Management Position
NASR is currently accepting applications for the newly created role of Risk Management Officer. This position is based in Royston Park, South Australia with some interstate travel required.
This position will be appointed in October 2010. If you are interested in applying for this position, please visit www.seek.com.au to complete an application.
ACCC Speedway Racing Notifications Revoked
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has determined that notifications lodged by Perth Motorplex and Avalon Raceway which only allow drivers and pit crew to access track facilities if they hold a licence from the National Association of Speedway Racing are to be revoked.
The ACCC considers that the balance of public benefits and public detriments has changed since it initially considered the notified conduct in 2008, and that there are alternate ways to achieve minimum health, safety and competitor conduct standards for the speedway industry without exclusive dealing arrangements.

Recent Meeting Attended By NASR
NASR GM Dale Gilson recently attended meetings with NASR VIC and NASR SA as well as previously having met with NASR QLD. This is part of the Board’s review all the NASR State Branches and their roles and how they can compliment NASR’s national activities in the future.
Dale also attended and addressed the NASR VIC AGM and Presentation Dinner in Pakenham, as well as the Safety Day in Drouin, updating everyone on NASR’s progress in his first year as GM.

NASR would like to remind licence holders to ensure they add a meaningful subject line and relevant content when emailing NASR Head Office.
Due to the necessary sensitivity of the NASR Spam Filter, some emails are being flagged as spam when they are legitimate communications. If you are emailing anything to NASR Head Office, please ensure you add a meaningful subject line and relevant content so your email reaches its destination as quickly as possible.
